Transform this holiday classic with the subtle hints of hemp and bring the immune boosting flavors of Black Elderberry to the holiday table this year!
- 12 ounces fresh cranberries
- Zest of 1 orange
- 1/4 cup Elderberry Support Colorado Hemp Honey plus 2 tablespoons (plus additional 1 to 2 tablespoons to taste)
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- pinch kosher salt and fresh ground black pepper
Bring cranberries, orange zest, 1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons honey, water, cinnamon, salt and pepper to a simmer over medium heat.
Continue cooking, stirring often, until the cranberries pop open and the sauce thickens. If still too tart, add an additional 1 to 2 tablespoons of honey to sweeten.
Cranberries will release pectin and thicken as they cook, if the sauce becomes too thick, add a little extra water to reach the desired consistency.
Let cool, then serve for your holiday meal and use leftovers to make overnight oats parfait.
