Our 100% organic essential oil is sourced from the United States and is cold pressed from the fresh tangerine peel to maintain the full scent and flavor of fresh tangerines. Mandarins and Tangerines are a part of the same family (Rutaceae Orange) & smell similar but with some subtle differences. As opposed to Sweet Orange Oil, (a common extract used in mass produced confections and sweetened candy) Tangerine essential oil is lighter with sweeter notes and a tangier floral note.   Organic essential oils (like Tangerine) are steam distilled to ensure maximum efficiency in extracting the essence of the plant and must be certified by the USDA to ensure that no persistent or toxic pesticides were used in the growing, cultivating or harvesting of the plant.
